Review: The Faerie Guardian by Rachel Morgan

Over this past week, I read The Faerie Guardian by Rachel Morgan. As usual, I was skeptical about how faeries would be portrayed in this book. I've seen them written as everything from Tinker Bell-like creatures to menacing monsters with pointed teeth.
Rachel Morgan took an interesting route and made her's act more human, with a touch of the traditional Fae that we know.
This book is about Violet-yes, that is her real name- and the human boy that she's sent to save from an evil Fae creature. Somehow, this boy, named Nate, is able to see her. If that's not weird enough, Nate becomes curious and follows Violet into her world. There he is able to walk the faerie paths, something no human should be able to do.
Violet's in big trouble for bringing the boy into her world and is now tasked with erasing his memories, something that Violet decided against due to her growing feelings for Nate.
That's when things get complicated.
I dove into this book and read it so fast that it's not even funny. It's one of those books that you just have to read until after midnight. The characters completely captured me, not letting me leave.
Those characters- along with the twist that you never see coming- is what kept me reading.
If you're looking for a quick yet awesome read, then The Faerie Guardian is the book for you!
